A Place for Erik and Jan's Hobbies

Meet the Petersons

Erik Peterson

I am Engineering Manager for Newpoint Thermal.  I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Kansas State University in 1993.  I've been fortunate to work for some great companies throughout my career with some amazing mentors.

As for photography and music, they are represented on other pages on this site.  Golf... pretty much a bogie golfer, struggling to find time to get better.  Poker, at one time, was pretty big for me as supplemental income and a short stint playing as a professional.  Both Jan and I ride motorcycles.  Our main bikes are Yamaha FZ1s.  We've done a track day at Barber Motorsports Park and hope to do many more.

I am a huge audiophile.  It started when I was invited by my boss to go to the Martin-Logan factory after work.  I was hooked.  Now, we have an amazing home theater using Magnepan speakers, with Ayre and Citation power with Audioquest wire.  We are also working on our 2-channel, using Martin-Logan speakers with Ayre electronics and Audioquest wire.  I've helped friends design systems for home theater with 7.1 surround, 5.1 audio systems and 2-channel audio systems with budgets all over the map.  In the future, we'll have audiophile pages on this site with hints and tips that we've picked up over the last 15 years.

Jan Peterson

I am an Occupational Safety Specialist for the FAA.  I graduated with a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Georgia in 1995.  I spent over 10 years as a consultant for the FAA with Booz Allen Hamilton.

I enjoy all our hobbies (but I'm a double-bogey golfer), spending time with family and friends, watching UGA football, and playing with our cat.  When I'm feeling like it - I like to cook and do puzzles.

About Us

Jan and I have many hobbies that we have enjoyed together.  These hobbies not only include photography and music, but also golf, scuba, poker, motorcycles, high-end audio, and wine collecting.

We live in Atlanta, GA, with family in Texas, Utah, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Washington,  Florida, and Alabama.
