My grandfather was a professional photographer. During the war (WWII), he took photos for the Navy's newspaper. After the war, he was Director of Photography for the Rock Island Argus. After he was retired, he brought them into the digital age (at 70+ years old).
It seemed like both my mother and father had nice cameras growing up. Before I was in high school, I was learning about hyperfocal focus distance and light meters. I wish I would have stuck with it, but when digital first came out, I found that music was taking up most of my time.
After a couple of point and shoots, Jan finally convinced me to get a DSLR. Glad I did. Now, it's a hobby we both can dive into.
